How Digger came into my life

I like turtles, but as pets, they pose some issues.

First of all, the turtles I had as pets as a kid never lasted. As I got older, I would catch one or two in late spring and the release them when school started. Turtles are also a bit messy, as I married and had kids, I tried Box Turtles, but still the turtles suffered from a shortened life span. For several years, I was turtleless. Then my son became a Boy Scout and he began working on the Reptile and Amphibian Study merit badge. One of the requirements was to maintain one of more reptiles or amphibians for a month. So I did a bit of research, looking for the perfect pet. Clean, easy to care for, long lived... and the answer is "Agrionemys Horsfieldii", the Russian Tortoise. So, I found one for sale on the Internet, and before long, Digger joined my family. Digger has been with us for over a year now. Click here for more info on the Russian Tortoise

About Coffee, Scotch, Music and a Tortoise

Wow, my first post on my first blog.

Digger is a Russian Tortoise. He is not yet 2 years old. I will provide updates on his life over time.

I have other interest as well. I love coffee and it is also my occupation. I love Scotch, I would have an inventory problem if I were in the Scotch business. I also have a diverse taste in music.

It is these things I plan to write about.
